Three pistols, a factory-made revolver and 12 country-made pistols were recovered from his possession. Two magazines of a .9mm pistol were also recovered.

“Jai Prakash is a native of Bihar and was involved in cross-border smuggling of illegal weapons,” Bahraich superintendent of police Piyush Modak told IANS.

The accused used to source the weapons from Bihar’s Munger and adjoining districts and would sell them to anti-national elements in Nepal, a police source said.

Munger is famous for manufacturing of prototypes of all kind of Indian and foreign-make pistols. The copies are available at a cheap price.
