The two are facing murder charges in a 2006 land dispute case. Seven other people have been charged in the case.

Apart from Manoj and Inderpal Singh, Kiranpal, Kale, Pappu, Aneesh, Banti, Jitendra and Rampul Sharma have been accused for murdering four people. Manoj and Inderpal were arrested from Meerut last year and are facing charges under sections 147, 148 and 302 of the IPC.
