Islamabad : Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf is ready to face impeachment, a move likely to be taken by coalition parties, local TV channel DAWN NEWS reported Wednesday.
The DAWN NEWS quoted Pervaiz Elahi, leader of the pro-Musharraf Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), as saying that the motion (of impeachment) would fail in the parliament if coalition decided to impeach the President.
“The President will not resign due to tactics of ruling coalition,” Pervaiz Elahi said.
Pervaiz Elahi who is also leader of the opposition in national assembly further said that PML-Q would continue to stand by Musharraf and defend any attempt of his impeachment.
Meanwhile, leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are meeting at Zardari House here on Wednesday for decisive talks on Musharraf’s impeachment and judges’ reinstatement.
