India elect to bat in third Test against Sri Lanka

Colombo : India’s captain Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat in the deciding third and final cricket Test against Sri Lanka at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium here Friday.

As expected, both teams made one change each. Out-of-form wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik made way for Parthiv Patel in the Indian XI.

For Sri Lanka, fast bowler Dhammika Prasad is making his debut in place of Nuwan Kulasekara.

Sri Lanka won the first Test at Colombo’s SSC ground by an innings and 239 runs while India bounced back by winning the second Test in Galle by 170 runs.
