Sana’a : Yemen was re-elected as a deputy chairman for the Asian Youth Council (AYC) for the second time during the council’s 10th Conference held recently in South Korea, Yemen News Agency (SABA) reported.
Upon his arrival here, Deputy Ministry of Sport and Youth Mua’amar al-Eryani said that the conference that concluded its activities recently in South Korea came out with a new vision on taking care of the Asian youth and guiding them on how to improve they role in various walks of life.
He highlighted the leadership and the government’s efforts, which encouraged Yemeni youths to take part in the economic, social and political activities.
AYC is a Non-Governmental Organization in consultative status with the United Nations’ Economic and Social Commission (ECOSOC).
Members of the AYC comprised national youth organizations in Asia. AYC Serves as a forum for information exchange among national youth councils in Asia and other inter-regional agencies. It works closely with various regional and international partners to promote youth volunteerism and development of leadership among young people.
