New Delhi : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs Friday approved the new investment policy for existing fertiliser units to augment the production of urea – the staple fertiliser used by farmers.
Science and technology minister Kapil Sibal said the government was expecting a good monsoon. He told reporters: “The new policy aims at revamping the existing fertiliser unit and their capacity-building”.
Sibal said that the government expected a lot of investment for these fertiliser units.
“Monsoon has revived and it will immensely benefit Indian farmers,” Sibal said.
