Moscow : Georgia’s President Mikhail Saakashvili has said that his country would withdraw its peacekeepers from Iraq Saturday, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.
The troops would be withdrawn from Iraq Saturday, the president said in an interview with CNN Friday.
Georgia has around 2,000 peacekeepers in Iraq. The troops are rotated every six months.
It was reported earlier that the Georgian troops would stay in Iraq until the end of this year.
