Pyongyang : The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) announced Saturday steps of expelling South Koreans working at the country’s Mt. Kumgang resort, the official KCNA news agency reported.
The DPRK will start to expel “unnecessary” South Koreans in the area from Sunday and staffs of “Korea Tourist Company” and “Mt. Kumgang Reunion Center” will be the first batch.
It also reiterated that Pyongyang will limit personnel and vehicles of the South Korea in and out of the border area and vowed to take military reactions towards any “violations” by the south side in the area.
The DPRK military issued a statement on Aug. 3 of expelling South Koreans in the resort as a response to the inter-Korean disputes over the death of a South Korean housewife in the resort, who was shot by a DPRK soldier.
