Kolkata : The 23-year-old caretaker of a hotel in West Bengal’s Midnapore town was grievously injured when contestants and producers of a Bengali reality show pushed him from the fifth floor of the hotel early Saturday for asking them to stop their nightlong consumption of alcohol, police said.
The team of “Fatafati” – a reality show aired on ETV Bangla – went to Midnapore town, about 165 km from here, to shoot for a special episode Friday.
“Producers Gautam Jain and Rajiv Mehra were drinking with contestants Somnath Roy Chowdhury and Romi Nag Chowdhury on the fifth floor rooftop of the hotel till 2 a.m Saturday. When caretaker Prasun Adikari protested, he was beaten up badly and thrown down from the roof,” R.K. Singh, district superintendent of police, told IANS.
Adhikari has been admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata with serious head injuries.
Singh said Jain, Mehra and Somnath Roy Chowdhury had been arrested and produced in the district court.
“Romi Nag Chowdhury fled early morning. We are looking for her,” he added.
