The team of “Fatafati” – a reality show aired on ETV Bangla – went to Midnapore town, about 165 km from here, to shoot for a special episode Friday.

“Producers Gautam Jain and Rajiv Mehra, along with contestant Somnath Roy Chowdhury, were produced before a Midnapore court Saturday afternoon. They were remanded in five days of police custody,” Superintendent of Police R.K. Singh told IANS.

Jain, Mehra and Roy Chowdhury allegedly beat up Prasun Adhikari, 23, the hotel caretaker, for asking them to stop their alcohol consumption.

But the team members refuted the allegation and said Adhikari was teasing their fellow-contestant Romi Nag Chowdhury. The incident took place while they were trying to protest his misbehaviour.

Nag Chowdhury, however, fled the hotel immediately after the incident.

Adhikari has been admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata with serious head injuries.
