Beijing : Shooter Abhinav Bindra made history Monday, winning India’s first individual gold medal in the Olympics, when he won the 10-metre Air Rifle event here.
Bindra won by scoring 700.5 points, 596 in the qualifier and 104.5 in the final to claim the gold.
India’s other entry in the event, Gagan Narang, came ninth in the qualifier and failed to make it to the final.
