Noida : An Aghan national pursuing his graduation in Delhi University and his three friends were thrashed by four youths here, the police said Wednesday.
Qasim Ahmad, the Afghani student of the PGDAV College, Tuesday went to meet his friends Sunny, Ankush and Sachin – all students of Amity University at Noida. They were on their way to see a movie in the evening when four people stopped them and smashed the front and rear windscreens of the car they were riding in.
They pulled the boys out of the car and beat them up. While Sunny, Ankush and Sachin managed to escape soon after, the assailants caught Qasim and thrashed him with iron rods.
The 22-year-old sustained injuries on his head, right arm and legs, said Anil Samania, an official at the Sector-39 police station.
After unny, Ankush and Sachin raised an alarm, passers-by rushed them to hospital.
Ahmad later told the police that he knew one of the attackers, who was identified as V.A. Tyagi alias Srikanth, the official said.
“We have arrested Tyagi and are looking for the other three youth,” Samania added.
