Islamabad : Five police personnel were killed and 20 others were injured in the bomb blast outside the police station here on Wednesday Geo Tv.
The bombing hit policemen on the outskirts of the city as they stood guard during preparations for Independence Day, police officer Mohammad Umar said.
“It appears that a suicide bomber blew himself up next to the police in a very crowded area. We have five people killed at the moment,” Umar said.
All injured people who included both civilians and police ersonnel were shifted to the Sheikh Zaid various hospitals.
Security has been beefed up in the country and all police stations are on red alert.
