Ranchi : Unwilling to step down despite the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) withdrawing support to his government, Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda Monday met Governor Syed Sibte Razi and said he would prove his majority on the floor of the assembly.
Koda, who has been steadfastly resisting JMM leader Shibu Soren’s efforts to oust him in order to get the chair for himself, met the governor in the afternoon and submitted a letter asking for a date on which to prove his majority.
He told reporters later: “I will prove my majority on the floor of the house. It is upto the governor to give a time frame.”
The JMM withdrew support to the Koda government Sunday evening, reducing it to a minority. In the 82-member house, Koda, an independent, now enjoys the support of only 25 legislators.
