The Left, despite withdrawing support to the DMK, has given no indication of such an attempt so far.

The next meeting of the assembly is yet to be announced.

Ramadoss was speaking to reporters after meeting his party colleague Kaduvetti Guru, who is presently in jail under the National Security Act in the high security prison here, 300 km from capital Chennai.

The PMK, despite being dropped by the DMK from the Democratic Progressive Alliance in June, is yet to find any backers in the state’s political spectrum. Ramadoss had made an open appeal to the Congress and the Left to form a third front in the state comprising the PMK and parties headed by actor-turned politicians.

Ramadoss was noncommittal when journalists asked him what would happen in case the AIADMK moved a no-confidence motion.

“We will weigh all our political options,” Ramadoss said cryptically.
