The rocket targeted the house of provincial assembly member (MPA) Waqar Ahmed in Swat valley in North West Frontier Province, killing his brother and other family members, according to the news channel.

The attack comes a day after the Bajaur chapter of a militant group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan unilaterally declared ceasefire and offered to hold peace talks with the government.

However, the Pakistan government rejected the offer Sunday, saying the militants had broken such ceasefire agreements earlier.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman and presidential candidate Zardari said in an interview with the BBC Sunday that the Taliban should be put on the list of banned organisations in Pakistan.
