Alliances to be decided after polls’ announcement: Ramadoss

By IANS,

Chennai : Pattali Makkal Katchi chief S. Ramadoss Tuesday said he would decide upon poll alliances only after the announcement of parliamentary elections.

“All our future plans will be announced only after the proclamation of parliamentary elections and not before,” he said.

Ramadoss was reacting to an invitation from Chief Minister and ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam President M. Karunanidhi to rejoin the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance.

He refused to be drawn into answering pointed questions regarding the third front in the state in which he had evinced interest a fortnight ago.

Last week, he said he would support the left if it moved a vote of no confidence against the government in future.

“We will be attempting to form our government after the general elections in 2011 and promulgate total prohibition in the state. If we fail to achieve this, we would prefer to resign than cling on to power,” Ramadoss added.
