Washington : US presidential candidates Barack Obama (Democrat) and John McCain (Republican) are now tied in vote intentions for the November 2008 general elections.
A poll made by US television network CNN showed both contenders receiving the support of 47 percent of the more than 1,000 questioned people. This constituted the first poll since the announcement of Barack Obama´s formula partner, by Obama himself.
Obama completed his electoral formula last Saturday after he appointed Joseph Biden, senator for the state of Delaware as his aspirant for Vice President of the US, when there two months and 10 days left for the elections.
CNN said Obama has seen his relatively wide edge over McCain reduced.
A similar study by CNN showed Obama going ahead of McCain with 7 percentual points four weeks ago.
All this seems like a step back being related to the lack of support by the former followers of former First Lady Hillary Clinton, commented CNN poll director Keating Holland.
Nevertheless, experts said that the choice of Joseph Biden, who has been in the US Senate for 35 years now, might give back Obama his absolute leadership.
Experts coincided a lot of people are still seeing McCain as a continuator of the policies by George W. Bush, so this makes him lose followers.
