Harare : Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Lovemore Moyo has been elected chairman of the House of Representatives of Zimbabwe.
Austin Zvoma announced Moyo’s win to rival Paul Themba Nyathi, also member of the MDC opposing government Zimbabwe African National Union Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF) of President Robert Mugabe.
Moyo is MDC national director and Themba Nyathi belongs to an MDC splinter.
The opposition won the Legislative elections last March and Mugabe was re-elected June 27 at the presidential runoffs.
South Africa mediates on going negotiations between the MDC and ZANU-PF to settle the political distress affecting Zimbabwe since July.
