Tehran : Former Iranian Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mohammad Yazdi opened the 16th International Quran Exhibition here last night. In his inuagural speech, Ayatollah Yazdi expressed hope that the Quran exhibition will be a venue for bringing all members of the society closer to the profound teachings of the holy book. “The revelation of the Quran has been aimed at guiding humanity and establishing Quranic rule on earth,” he said, adding that with the blessing of God Quranic rule has been established in Iran. “Neither the Majlis nor the government can pass laws or issue circulars that run counter to the teachings of the divine book,” he said.
Ayatollah Yazdi, who heads Qom Seminary School’s Instructors Society, urged reflection over the profound meanings of the verses of the holy Quran while reciting the verses. Iranian Culture Minister Mohammad Hossein Saffar Harrandi also spoke on the occasion, He said that the international Quran exhibition has improved in quality and variety in the past few years. The exhibition is being organized with the collaboration of the country’s Quranic society. The Exhibition, which is being held at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla (prayer hall) will last for September 27. It will be open everyday from 3 P.M. until midnight.
