Pakistan launches search operation to find two missing Chinese engineers

Islamabad : The security forces Sunday launched a search operation in a northern district to find two Chinese engineers, who went missing two days back along with two locals.

A large-scale search operation has been launched in Der district of North-West Frontier Province (NWFP) of Pakistan, security sources told KUNA.

They said that two Chinese engineers of a Zong mobile company were repairing a tower along with a local bodyguard and driver in Khal area of the district on Friday. After completing their work, said sources, they were returning to their office when they went missing along with their vehicle.

The Chinese embassy in Islamabad has confirmed the missing reports of two Chinese engineers along with their driver and a body-guard. However, police has not yet confirmed whether they have been kidnapped or not.

Sources said that a case has been registered in the police station of Der regarding the missing of two Chinese engineers and two Pakistanis. They said that the local authorities had no information about the arrival of Chinese engineers in the area.
