Ahmedabad blast key accused handed over to Gujarat ATS

Bhopal : A Madhya Pradesh court Thursday handed over an alleged terrorist wanted for the Ahmedabad blasts to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Gujarat by on police remand till Dec 18, the police said.

“Qayimuddin alias Musa alias Rizwan, who was nabbed Nov 10 from Ujjain, was granted police remand for 15 days. Later, Delhi Police took him for questioning in some cases. He was presented in the Ujjain court by Delhi Police Thursday. The court on the request of the Gujarat ATS handed him to it on police remand till Dec 18,” a police official said.

“Musa was arrested on a tip-off while he was planning to leave the town and waiting for his accomplices at the Ujjain-Badnagar road,” Deputy Inspector General of Police (ATS) Pawan Shrivastav told IANS, adding that some objectionable literature was seized from him.

Qayimuddin, who hails from Vadodara, is alleged to be among the key conspirators of the July 26 serial blasts in Ahmedabad, which claimed at least 60 lives, and has been declared absconding by the crime branch of the Ahemdabad police.
