After clearing the interview he was happily returning home on 26th November. He was sitting in a Second Class waiting room at CST Station for Rajendra Nagar Bihar Express. Terrorists entered the waiting room and sprayed bullets on the people there. Hussain took bullets in the forehead and died on the spot.

Talking to TwoCircles.net Mohammad Alamgir, a railway employee at Danapur Division said he had never imagined that he will be part of the funeral procession and carry the dead body of his young son on his own shoulder. On 26th he came to know about the terrorist attack on Mumbai through television channels. He became very anxious and started to get information about his son who was out of contact as he had left his mobile phone at home. Taking help of some of his senior officers of his department along with Divisional Rail Manager (DRM), Danapur, Patna, he contacted DRM of CST jurisdiction Mumbai. The Mumbai railway officer assured them that he will give information about Hussain as soon as possible. The General Rail Police (GRP) at CST confirmed the death of Hussain but it took two days.

After getting confirmed information of death of his son Alamgir left for Mumbai to get his body. The dead body of Hussain was sent to Grant Medical College Mumbai. According to the postmortem report which was held on 27th November between 06:15 p.m. to 07:15 p.m. by Dr SC Mohite and Dr Sushim Waghmare, Hussain got Cranio Cerebral Injury by firearms.

Hussain had little son Md Raza Hussain. TCN wanted to talk to his wife who is expecting Hussain’s another child but she was not in condition to say anything. Once she tried to share her sorrow collecting all her courage she fainted thrice by only saying that “Hum jald hi wapas aa jayenge. Ab zayada acchi naukri milegi” (I will come back soon. Now I will get better job) referring to what her husband told her last. “I have lost my jewel of life. Nothing is left with me,” said Shabana with flooded eyes.

When asked about any assurance from the state government Hussain’s father Alamgir said that he got no assurance of compensation or anything else from the state government. Neither the Chief Minister nor any of his ministers visited him and gave consolation in this time of trouble, said Alamgir. Naushad Ahmad, Chairman of state Minority Commission, was among the first to come.

Hussain’s dead body was brought to Patna on 4th December by his father and he was laid for final rest in Khalilpura graveyard of Phulwari Sharif. His funeral prayer and procession was attended by MP Ramkripal Yadav, MLA Shyam Rajak, Chiarman Minority Commission, Naushad Ahmad, senior RJD leader Shahnawaz Alam, Vice Chairman, Nagar Parishad, Phulwari Sharif, Nasimuddin Rizvi and thousands of people.

He praised Lalu Prasad Yadav who visited his house with local MP Ram Kirpal Yadav, MLA Shyam Rajak, several leaders of his party and higher officials of the railway including DRM. Consoling Hussain’s wife Shabana Lalu Yadav assured the family a compensation of Rs 10 lakh and a job to her. Since she is not literate therefore he instructed the DRM to accommodate her in 4th grade at the earliest.

When asked about his opinion on Muslims and terrorism Alamgir strongly condemned terrorism in any form. He said: “A Muslim can never be a terrorist. Islam is a religion of peace and its followers can never be a terrorist. A terrorist has no religion and community. The death of my son is its proof. We are Muslims and my son was a Muslim then after he was killed which shows terrorists don’t see any religion.”

“I have lost my eldest son. It is not my loss only but also the loss of the country and I am ready to sacrifice anything to fight terrorism,” he added.
