Prospect of Iran-Ecuador ties, constructive: Ahmadinejad

Tehran : President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Sunday evening that prospects for Iran-Ecuador relations is promising and constructive.

Addressing a joint press conference attended by his Ecuadorian counterpart, President Rafael Correa Delgado, Ahmadinejad said the independent Ecuadorian government is currently at the service of its own nation and the other free nations and that’s why there is a sense of affinity between the Iranian and the Ecuador’s nations.

Terming the current visit to Tehran of the Ecuadorian delegation as positive and fruitful, the Iranian president announced that the two sides reached very good agreements on different issues.

Referring to bilateral relations as “crucial”, Ahmadinejad said the two countries’ leaders are seriously determined to materialize all agreements reached between the two states.

“There is no obstacle in the way of further expansion of cooperation,” he added.

Delgado said for his part that his visit to Tehran was very positive and useful, saying all accords inked by the two sides will benefit both nations.

Lauding Iran’s scientific, technological, and industrial progress in the past three decades, he said the brave Iranian nation successfully survived a dictatorial regime under the influence of the West.

He added that the great Iranian nation is an appropriate example for the Latin American nations.

On the latest developments in the Latin America, he condemned the US bullying in the region.

Delgado, heading a high-ranking delegation arrived in Tehran Friday evening.

He was officially seen off by his Iranian counterpart Sunday evening.

Delgado will head for Isfahan and Assalouyeh industrial site later in the day.
