Santiago (Cuba), Dec 9 (Prensa Latina) Caricom, an association of 15 Caribbean nations, has urged the US to immediately lift the economic blockade against Cuba, saying it a relic of the past.
The heads of state meeting here for a summit hoped that the new US administration would lift the ban soon.
Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer praised Cuban people for their resilience in facing three devastating cyclones that hit the country recently amid the economic blockade.
He said the US economic blockade was a relic of the past and expressed Caricom’s support to the UN Charter on noninterference in domestic affairs.
Cuba’s President Raul Castro opened the Caricom summit Monday.
