Gambhir’s fifty lifts India

Chennai : Gautam Gambhir’s half-century took India to 213 for three in the second innings at lunch, chasing a victory target of 387 runs, against England on the final day of the first cricket Test at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium here Monday.

Gambhir made a patient 66. V.V.S. Laxman (27 batting) and Sachin Tendulkar (20 batting) were the not out batsmen when India went for the lunch break needing 174 runs to win the match.
