Mohali : Indian mediaperson Thursday complained to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) here for discriminating between Indian and English journalists. They said while English journalists were allowed easy access to restricted areas, Indians were stopped from entering the ground.
The second match between India and England is slated to start Friday at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium here.
“The cops and private security personnel are allowing English journalists to enter the ground unchecked,” said an exasperated journalist of a television channel from Delhi.
“We are not even allowed to go near the ground and the behaviour of security personnel is rude.”
The journalists even showed the top Mohali police officials, who were on a round of security check in the stadium, around dozen English media persons moving freely in the ground.
“We have prescribed certain rules for the media persons and these are same for all the journalists irrespective of nationality. We will investigate this issue,” said Mohali SSP Jatinder Singh Aulakh.
