Pakistan and Oman hold joint naval exercise

ISLAMABAD, Dec 18 (NNN-KUNA) — Pakistan and Oman have kicked off a six-day joint naval exercise in the North Arabian Sea, said the Pakistan navy.

It said Wednesday in a statement that the exercise, “Thamar Al-Tayyib,” is a biennial event aimed to enhance inter-operability between the two naval forces and improve security in the maritime domain.

The exercise is divided to harbour and sea phases, it said.

The last such exercise was held in the Gulf of Oman in September 2006.
