Mumbai : A key index of the Indian equities markets dipped Friday during afternoon trade but rose again to rule at 10,146.28, forty minutes before close.
The 30-share Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 10,001.33 points, fell below the 10,000-mark during afternoon trade but recovered later to rule at 10,146.28 points a little before 3 p.m., about 70 points or 0.69 percent higher than Thursday’s close.
The broader-based S&P Nifty also followed a similar trend and was ruling around 3,096.6 points.
Broader market indices were again outperforming the Sensex, with the midcap index rising 1.94 percent higher than its previous close while the smallcap index rose 0.81 percent compared to Thursday’s close.
