Safwat al-Sharif said that the statement may lead to break-up of Iran-Egypt ties.

The draft statement was critical of Iran and the speaker demanded the press not to publish it, because it has not been released by the parliament yet.

The draft statement criticized Iran for urging Egypt to open Rafah border point to Gaza Strip and help alleviate sufferings of 1.5 million people living under Israeli siege.

It said that Iran is politicizing the Egyptian move to ban entry of food and medical supplies to Gaza strip to prop up its influence in the region.

IRNA reporter in Gaza City said that despite promises made by the Egyptian senior officials to allow the Gaza people to reach out to the Egyptian medical centers and the international relief aid, no practical step has been taken by Egypt so far.
