Mumbai, Dec 26 (IANS) A month after the Mumbai terror strikes, investigators are piecing together the finer details of the sequence of events preceding the attack to prepare a solid case against Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab, the lone terrorist captured alive, police sources said.
“We are now armed with sufficient evidence against him and are confident of building a strong case against him. We want to ensure that there are no loopholes of any kind and prepare the chargesheet with extensive details,” a senior official told IANS here Friday evening.
The investigators are examining each and every “finer aspect” pertaining to the entire planning of the terror operation in Pakistan, the involvement of the key players, especially the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) activists and the suspected support of the underworld mafia operatives, he said.
Apart from Kasab’s sustained interrogation under custody, teams of investigators have carried out several visits to some of the 13 sites that were targeted.
Friday afternoon, a team led by a high-ranking official carried out another survey in and around the Cama and Albless Hospital and near the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).
