Kiev : Kuwaiti and Ukrainian chambers of commerce have inked an economic cooperation protocol aiming to open fresh economic and trade vistas between both countries.
Speaking on the occasion of the signed deal, Osama al-Nesf, the Kuwaiti chamber representative, said the protocol was aimed to reactivate economic activities between Kuwait and Ukraine.
Such deals lead to opening broader fields and providing attractive factors for investors in both countries to enter into highly rewarding projects that could serve economic development in both sides, he said.
Al-Nesf stressed the importance of sharing information between both sides in the area of encouraging mutual investment given the fact that both nations abound in feasible investment openings.
He also called on both countries to pave the way for a mutual flow of capital by means of reconsidering economic laws pertinent to foreign investment.
For his part, Carol Vallery, chairman of the Ukrainian chamber of commerce, said Ukraine had succeeded in drawing much foreign capital in spite of some legislative flaws.
He voiced his country’s resolve to reconsider legislations and laws in this respect.
He called for holding a major economic forum between both countries’ public and private sectors to discuss relevant legislative flaws.
He hoped that the scope of Ukrainian-Kuwaiti trade exchange and mutual commodity fairs would be broadened, especially as both sides have the ability to notch up such an end.
Two representatives of the Kuwaiti chamber are part of a delegation accompanying Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Falah Al-Hajri, who is here on an official visit to Ukraine.
