Melbourne : Irfan Pathan notched up his highest score while Australian speedster Nathan Bracken returned his career-best bowling figures at the one-off Twenty20 International here Friday.
Pathan’s 26 runs off 30 balls were not just his career-best but it was also the lone double-digit score in India’s 74 in 17.3 overs. The left-handed batsman’s previous highest score in this format of the game was 20 off 15 balls against Pakistan in Durban on Sep 14 last year.
Left-arm pacer Bracken’s three for 11 was his career-best bowling performance, which helped Australia win the match by nine wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Bracken’s previous best was three for 16 against England in Cape Town and it also came on the same day as Pathan’s best score during the world championship.
Bracken’s haul is now the best by an Australian against India in Twenty20, outstripping Mitchell Johnson’s two for 31 in Durban Sep 22.
