Russian Communist to Go on TV

Moscow : The Russian presidential candidate for the Communist Party of the Federation (PCFR), Guennadi Ziuganov, will participate in television debates during the last part of his campaign, a party spokesman announced.

Vice president Ivan Melnikov made the announcements after a closed meeting of the upper echelons of the PCFR on the future strategies of the campaign.

Ziuganov proposed confronting the officialist contender, Dmitri Medvedev on federal channels but the Kremlin favorite denied that possibility from the very beginning.

Due to the absence of a strong rival he announced days ago that he would not use up free TV space offered contenders for February 2.

Melnikov indicated that they decided to close the controversial subjects of the past in the press with the stubbornness of Ziuganov on television.

“We have little television time and that is why, in these complex circumstances, we must make an effort to use all possibilities to take the program to the voters,” announced the second in high command of PCFR and Ziuganov campaign head.
