Albright was Secretary of State during the regime of former President Bill Clinton. She oversaw the decade of sanctions on Iraq during which the country was denied some of the basic human essentials. More than a million Iraqis died as a result of sanctions, including 500,000 children, according to UN statistics. They were affected by water pollution, lack of medical and health facilities and dislocation of their lives. Albright not only approved of the sanctions but also the slow death of the Iraqi population. The rally went on for more than an hour.
