In a radio address, Mining Minister Nassour Abadia called on the people who fled to Cameroon to come back, and warned that all those who shelter rebels in their homes must turn them over, or will be treated accordingly.

Abdallah also announced that wearing turbans in the streets of the Chadian capital has been proscribed, to avoid insurgents from hiding their faces.

In the meantime, France on Wednesday reiterated its willingness to use the military choice to support the government of Idriss Deby, if rebels continue attempts to destabilize the country.

France Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner told Europe-1 radio station that his country could ó act more decisively if necessary to protect Deby’s lawful government.

ó It does not mean we are going to do it or want to do it, we simple have the moral and political obligation on behalf of the international community and the UN Security Council, ó Kouchner pointed out.
