US Deaths in Iraq Reach 3,950

Baghdad : The number of US deaths in Iraq amounted to 3,950 Thursday, after a roadside bomb killed another soldier, according to the Pentagon statistics.

The soldier died Wednesday when his vehicle activated a roadside explosive on the Baghdad west highway, the US command said in a release, providing no further details of the incident.

Blasts have been the main cause of death among the occupation forces in the Arab country, with reports of one every three days since the beginning of this year, the military command admitted.

Similarly, there has been an escalation of attacks against Iraqi security forces in recent days, with the latest reported Wednesday in the northern city of Mosul, where the resistance killed two policemen.
