Islamabad : Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Nisar A. Memon said the nation was on important journey to complete democracy and all stakeholders must play their active role in the upcoming general elections and making it a successful.
Taking to PTV Thursday, the Minister expressed satisfaction over the electioneering that was getting momentum day by day across the country.
He said federal and provincial governments are extending full cooperation to the Election Commission for holding the elections in free, fair and peaceful atmosphere.
Nisar Memon said his Ministry has been persistently arranging conferences in connection with the upcoming election in all provinces with the theme of “Unite for elections-2008.”
The conferences are aimed at interacting especially with the journalist community to apprise them that federal and provincial governments are taking specific steps to improve law and order situation to ensure peaceful atmosphere for the polls, he added.
To a question, he vowed to ensure peaceful atmosphere for the upcoming elections where voters would feel comfortable and secure while exercising their legitimate right to vote.
