Jaipur : Over 500 dogs will not only walk the ramp, but also dance and get points for obedience at a national level dog show that will be held here next week.
‘Dogs-2008’, to be held Feb 17, will include various events like the ‘Grand Dog Championship’, ‘Jodi No.1’, adventure and obedience show, cross breed show and dog dancing.
The event has been organised by the Pink City Canine Club in association with Tycoon Events, an event management firm. The show is based on the theme “No Cruelty” to spread the message of protecting the animals from atrocities.
“We have received over 500 entries from across the country and are expecting over 1,000 participants. We contacted various dog associations and the response was tremendous,” said Viren Sharma of Pink City Canine Club.
As many as 40 award categories have been fixed that include most intellectual dog, most handsome dog, most photogenic and best catwalk.
A special event would be ‘Jodi No.1’ where dog owners too would be judged by the love and affection they show for their pets. Another highlight of the show is city models walking the ramp with the pets.
Police dogs would also perform in the adventure and obedience show, where one can even see the animals ride motorbikes!
