Islamabad : At least six people were killed and 13 injured Monday in a suicide attack in Pakistan’s tribal area of North Waziristan, according to local press reports.
A bomber exploded his explosives-laden car in an attempt to kill nationalist Awami National Party (ANP) member Nisar Ali, who was talking with members of an anti-Taliban tribal “lashkar” or armed group, witnesses said.
Ali survived the attack, which occurred around 2:30 p.m. local (0930GMT).
The injured, some of them in critical condition, were taken to a local hospital.
On Saturday, a bomb targeting an ANP election rally in the Charsadda district in northwest Pakistan killed 30 people and injured more than 30.
