MP, Bihar & UP to get Grant-in-Aid under SGSY

Bhopal: The Union Ministry of Rural Development has released Rs. 24,14,88,000/- (Twenty four crore fourteen lakh eighty eight thousand) only towards Central share for the implementation of Swarna Jayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana, (SGSY), to the States of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh during the current financial year (2007-08).

According to Press Information Bureau Press release of the sanctioned amount the District Rural Development Agencies, (DRDA), of Jamui, Munger, Patna, Saharsa and Sheikhpura in Bihar will get Rs. 9,98,01,000/- (Nine crore ninetyeight lakh one thousand) as 1st installment from the Central Allocation of Rs. 19.66 crores. The amount of 1st installment for these districts consist of Rs. 2.12 crore, Rs. 1.32 crore, Rs. 3.33 crore, Rs. 2.46 crore and Rs. 72.19 lakh respectively.

In the case of Madhya Pradesh the grant is for Rs. 5,27,31,000/- (Five crore twenty seven lakh thirtyone thousand) only. From it the DRDAs of Balaghat, Rewa, Shivpuri and Vidisha are to receive the 2nd installment of grant of Rs. 2.49 crore, Rs. 1.46 crore, Rs. 58 lakhs and Rs. 73 lakhs respectively.

The DRDAs of Uttar Pradesh will receive Rs. 8,89,56,000/- (Eight crore eightynine lakh fiftysix thousand) only as second installment of SGSY. This include Banda (Rs. 1.24 crore), Hardoi (Rs. 4.79 crore) and Kanpur Dehat (Rs. 2.86 crore).

The release of funds is subject to audit by Internal Audit of the Ministry of Rural Development and the amount should be utilized on the programmes as per approved guidelines of SGSY. The funding pattern will be 75:25 by the Centre and State. ([email protected])
