Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia : Qatar Airways is to have a fourth daily non-stop flight between Doha and London Heathrow, taking its capacity between the two destinations to 42 services a week.
Chief executive officer Akbar Al Baker described the London Heathrow service as the airline’s flagship route for many years.
In a statement, Qatar Airways said the fourth daily non-stop flight will be effective from March 30, and to be operated with an Airbus A330 aircraft in a three-class configuration of up to 12 seats in First Class, 24 in Business Class and 223 in Economy.
Connecting flights with Qatar Airways are also available from Kuala Lumpur seven times a week, it said.
Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of 60 Airbus and Boeing aircraft to 81 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, the Far East and North America from Doha.
He said Qatar Airways enters 2008 in a buoyant mood with a further expansion of routes, including non-stop flights from Doha to the southern China industrial city of Guangzhou, beginning March 31.
