New Delhi : The union cabinet Thursday approved a proposal to set up the Northeastern Institute of Folk Medicine at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh.
This decision will facilitate systematic and comprehensive documentation and validation of the folk medicine traditions of the northeastern region.
The institute will be established as an autonomous organisation under the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH), at an estimated cost of Rs.328.8 million.
