It said the operation was conducted along with local administration and locals of the area.

Security forces have been deployed in Sawat after a bitter battle with supporters of local Taliban commander, Mullah Fazlulah, also known as “Mullah Radio” for his fiery speeches on his illegal FM radio station, left over 150 militants dead. Four dozen militants were also arrested.

The security forces though have claimed clearing the area of militants but the curfew is frequently imposed in the valley, once a tourist hotspot, to maintain law and order situation.
