Ottawa : Canadian Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier Sunday condemned the attack on Afghan civilians in Kandahar.
“This was a cowardly and despicable criminal act, carried out by terrorists against Afghan men, women and children,” said Bernier in a statement.
He vowed that “Canada will continue to work with local Afghan authorities to provide security and stability,” adding that “Canada’s commitment to the people of Afghanistan and their democratically elected government remains firm.”
The suicide blast, the deadliest attack in the country since Taliban regime collapsed in 2001, killed some 80 people and injured 50 others Sunday in Afghanistan’s southern Kandahar province.
