New Delhi : Jeev Milkha Singh may have missed out on his first title in 15 months with his second place finish in the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesian Open tournament Sunday, but he did have the consolation of moving 10 places from 93rd to the 83rd spot in the latest released world rankings here Monday.
Jyoti Randhawa, however, is still the highest ranked Indian and improved from his last week’s standing moving up three places to the 82nd position. Randhawa finished tied seventh in the tournament in Jakarta.
Among other Indians, Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia, who won the EMAAR-MGF Indian Masters here earlier this month, dropped two places in the world rankings as he skipped the Indonesian Open. He is now 164th in the world and 11th in Asia.
Gaurav Ghei and Shiv Kapur are 214 and 267 respectively in the world list, which is still headed by American Tiger Woods. Woods is followed by compatriot Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker in the second and third place respectively.
