Moussa flies to Argentina preparing for Arab-South American summit

By KUNA

Cairo : Arab League Secretary-general Amr Moussa left Cairo Monday on a flight taking him to Argentina to prepare the ground for an upcoming two-day summit of Arab and South American states starting February 20 in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires.

Moussa, who spoke to reporters in Cairo, before boarding a plane taking him to South America, said participants in the preliminary meeting are expected to endorse a set of principles that will be called the Buenos Aires Declaration.

This declaration is expected to prepare the ground for cooperation between the Arab world and South American states.

Moussa told reporters the preliminary meeting is expected to “enrich dialogue between Arab and South American states.” This meeting is expected to lead to a much larger summit between the two sides, which is expected to be held in Doha in the Fall.
