Muslim Students of SVMIT have been offering zuhr (mid-day) and asr(evening) namaz on campus since these prayers fall during class times. On Tuesday, members of Bajrang Dal gathered there and started reciting Hanuman Chalisa and shouting. Muslim students did not react to the provocation.

Hindu students belonging to Bajrang Dal said that Muslims should not pray on campus. They said that if Muslims continued to pray then Hindu students should also be given permission to do their puja.

Bajrang Dal has threatened to take extreme steps if Muslim students are not stopped from performing namaz. There is some tension in the air and may result in communal disharmony if no action is taken against Bajrang Dal who are bent on destroying peace of the campus.

TwoCircles.net was not able to contact SVMIT administration for comment.
