Dushanbe : Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Asghar Sherdoust has called for Iran and Tajikistan to develop media cooperation especially in Persian, the common language of the two nations, Iranian news agency (Irna) reported.
He told reporters that the ground is now well prepared for expansion of all out media cooperation between the two countries.
Following agreements between Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan for launching a Persian language TV station, the preliminaries have been done and the joint programme will be aired in the future.
The new TV network is to meet demands of Persian language speakers round the globe, he pointed out.
Iran and Tajikistan also agreed to print a new coloured daily in Farsi and Serpik, he said.
On expansion of cultural and scientific cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan, he said Iran has good potential to grant scholarship to Tajik university students for short term courses.
Iran and Tajikistan have significant potentials for cooperation on transport, energy, joint ventures and culture sectors.
