“Yes, I am joining the BJP national executive. I will also be associated with its think tank as director of the Dr Shyama Prasada Mukherjee foundation,” Vijay told IANS Thursday.

“I have been assigned this by the RSS. On Feb 25 they will give me a farewell and (senior RSS leader) Mohanrao Bhagwat will be present there.

“My association with Panchjanya goes back to 28 years. My first editor was Vajpayeeji (former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee). I was the youngest editor in the country. I started my journalistic career with Blitz in Bombay,” he said.

Asked who will replace him, Vijay said: “They have not decided yet. I will continue to write for them anyway.”
